Directions: Pick up some of the blush on the full end of your blush brush (Paula's Choice offers an excellent
Blush Brush). Knock off the excess, and brush it on with even strokes moving down along the cheekbone (not underneath the cheekbone—that is where contour is applied!). Apply in a downward direction (the same direction as you apply your powder) to help retain a smooth appearance, rather than a line or stripe over the cheekbone.
A favorite trick of makeup artists (including Paula) is to use two shades of blush to create definition and add color. This is done by first applying a neutral blush (Healthy Blush or Hint of Tan, for example) under the cheekbones and blending softly up onto the temple area. A brighter "pop" of color (Blossom or Nectar, for example) is then applied to the apple (the fleshy part that is best seen when we smile) of the cheek and blended into the contour shade. This look is seen time and again on almost every fashion magazine cover and in countless "before and after" pictures.
For a quick, streamlined makeup look, let your blush do double duty as cheek and eye color! This works best with a brown-toned blush when it is swept across the underbrow or into the crease area for soft definition. It's quick and easy and there is no need to worry about coordinating your blush and eyeshadow! Just add mascara and slick on some lipstick and you're done.
Another option you may want to experiment with is using blush as a soft lip color. Simply coat the lips with lip balm or Vaseline and use a clean finger or lip brush to apply a light coating of blush to your lips. Carefully press lips together to merge the powder with the balm and you'll have a lightweight, soft matte lip stain! Note: This is not recommended if you are prone to chapped lips.
Use Hint of Tan Soft Matte Blush or Healthy Finish Pressed Bronzing Powder SPF 15 shade Healthy Tan to create an excellent bronzed look. These three shades may also be used as contour colors as Paula describes in her book, The Beauty Bible, 2nd Edition.

I received my All Bases Covered foundation and Soft Matte Blush today and couldn't wait to try them out. At first I thought the foundation's consistency was "too thick," was going to be mask-like, and provide too much coverage, but I was wrong. It blended so easily and makes my skin look like silk. The Sand color of the foundation is perfect for my in-between skin tone, neither fair nor olive. And the Healthy Blush was so perfect, just like I was sun kissed without the damaging rays. I've decided I will order a few new products each month. I am very pleased.

Like this blush in Blossom. Goes a long way. The other sheer blush has to be applied heavier & looks cakey on 50+ skin.
