Apply with our Eyeliner or Precision Liner Brush for best results. Using the tip or side of your brush, pick up a small amount of product and line the eyes from inner to outer corner in one sweep if possible. If necessary, wipe excess product off brush prior to application to prevent applying too much in one area. Always recap tightly after each use. Be sure to thoroughly rinse your brush after each use as the Constant Color Gel Eyeliner can dry on the brush, making it harder to use next time.
Your initial application of the Constant Color Gel Eyeliner should impart a smooth, even line of color. If it does not, you may need to add more product to your brush. If you need to add more eyeliner, do so immediately before your original application has set into place. Once the Constant Color Gel Eyeliner has dried, applying more may cause flaking, particularly along the lower lashes.
Lining all the way across the upper eyelid (from the inside corner to the outer edge) is classic but you can also begin and end the line where your eyelashes stop and start. Along the lower lash line, it is best to line only the outer two-thirds of the eye.
Create a softer line under the lower lashes by using less of the liner. For a subtle daytime look, leave some space on the inside corner of the eye where the lashes end. This prevents a too-severe look and won't visually "close up" the lower lash line. Always make sure that upper and lower eyeliner meet at the eye's outer corner. You can achieve the look of a lighter and darker shade of eyeliner with one shade of Constant Color Gel Eyeliner. Simply layer for a more intense effect on the upper lash line and apply a single, softer layer to the lower lash line.
The thickness and intensity of your eyeliner should ideally be determined by the size of your eyelid. Those with larger eyelids look best with thicker, softer lines while smaller eyelids look best with a thinner, more intense line. If your upper eyelid is not visible at all, do not bother lining it.
For reasons of hygiene and eye safety, do not apply Constant Color Gel Eyeliner to the rims of your eyes.

Two raves: 1) I am thrilled with the Constant Color Gel Eyeliner. I am frequently on stage facing hot lights, plus I have oily skin and I sweat. This eyeliner has lasted through everything I've done so far, plus it is easy to apply. 2) I have never used anything that improved my skin like the 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid Liquid. If I want, I can even go without makeup because my skin is so clear. I never dreamed I would be able to say that.

After using another brand of cream eyeliner I ordered your gel eyeliner. When it arrived I remember thing that it was smaller than the other brand BUT then I tried it. I am throwing away the other brand immediately. Your liner went on so like silk, smoothly in one application, and lasted all day without smearing or smudging. The other brand took several tries to get a line across the lid, pulled and clumped on the brush, and smeared under my eye by day's end. And don't even get me started on how awesome your Epic Lengths mascara is. I've searched for years, the search is over!

I really love this product, the creamy texture, the neutral colors, and it's long wearing. I am fair so Earthen is fabulous for daytime. I like this a lot more than trying to use powder eyeshadow as liner; it doesn't get in my eyes or dust my cheeks.

I've gotta say, I'm impressed! I'm a lifetime pencil user, because most liners look too harsh for me. Problem is, pencil doesn't stay on, because I have those mid-day oily eyelids. I don't rave about much but I ordered your Constant Color Gel Eyeliner because my La Prairie million dollar one needed water and I was too lazy to keep running to the bathroom from my bedroom. The old one also flaked over my skin. What a surprise Paula's Choice was the best and I will never use another. gel eyeliner miracle
After reading all the reviews, I thought, What the heck, and ordered Earthen and Nightfall with the Precision brush. The price was good - much better than other gel eyeliners I was looking at - but nothing prepared me for how it works. WOW! It is so easy and the Earthen, which I thought would be too light in the jar, is the perfect hint of depth around my hazel eyes. I'm never going back to pencil or liquid - ever! How DO they keep making such great products?!

This liner goes on smooth, natural, and stays on. Espresso is a beautiful color, and probably flattering on everyone. And, it works better and is less expensive than the MAC gel liner I had been using. Great job!!

Try using our makeup remover or shampoo to clean the brush with. Also, be sure the cap is kept on and tight. Leaving it exposed to air can certainly dry it out. We have also increased the thickness of the cap liner to help prevent it from drying out. Hope these tips help.

Best Eyeliner Ever!
Absolutely the BEST eyeliner ever! Once on, this eyeliner does not move, wear off, or run. Buy Paula's eyeliner brush and you'll have a clean, slim line of color. I use it underneath my bottom lashes and can get a thin, precision line. Not at all harsh looking, as some liquid eyeliners have. Thank you Paula for creating one great eyeliner product! Great choice of colors too.

gel eye liner
I was very happy with the gel eye liner at first. Went on very smoothly and didn't pull. However, after using it for a while, it started to dry up. I was told to swirl the tip of the brush in the gel and this would help, it didn't. The same thing happened to a friend of mine. Would like to know if anyone else had this problem.
Note from Paula's Choice Customer Care: This can occur from trying to add water to thin it out, which is what I did in the beginning and it clumped. It also can happen from stirring it too deeply as opposed to skimming the top.

Great eyeliner
I am a life-long user of pencils and never thought I'd be able to master eye liner. However, your gel eyeliner is the absolute best product ever. I tried Shiseido and almost gave up.
